Heather saves the world

Climbing Walls PosterMy very quiet partner in crime is at it again. Saving the world one knee hang at a time. For those of you not in the know, my partner Heather runs an aerial dance studio here in Denver. She is having a fundraiser this weekend for the Climbing Walls: Youth Circus for a Brighter Future. She is raising money for travel expenses to Israel to bring Arab, Jews, Ethiopians, Russian, Druze, Christians, youth at risk, Israeli groups and overseas through the medium of circus arts. She will be fulfilling a lifelong dream to improve international relations by creating bonds through physical activity. Hopefully she will be sharing some of her experiences here when she returns.

The fundraiser should be a hoot including aerial acrobatics and dancing set to Hebrew and Middle Eastern music, local art and raffles for private aerial lessons, private parkour lessons, pilates lessons, pole dancing lessons, photography books, and jewelry hand-crafted specifically for this peace promoting event. If you would like to contribute to her journey you can either attend her fundraiser this Sunday or donate online you can find all that information here http://miraasaerial.com/ClimbingWalls.php.

If you want to know more about social circus programs like the one Heather will be participating in I highly recommend watching this clip from the documentary “Circus Kids”.

  1. I heart you.

And, um, really ……your “very quiet partner in crime?” I know you aren’t referring to me as I behave live an d in person, so is this a no-so-subtle reminder that I haven’t written anything for cat burglars yet? No worries…..an entry coming next week and definitely at least one about experiences in Israel and Palestine.

  3. Maggie surprisingly has alywas been great with people- never even went through much of a stranger anxiety phase! (Audrey did though, which is funny because she’s SO NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING ELSE!) It’s just new Experiences and Things that freak her out. We’ve tried not to push her- don’t want to scar her for life or make things worse- but I also don’t want her to miss out on stuff, you know? So I’m happy that she seems to be getting better! (Though she insists that she will NEVER EVER go on a roller coaster. heh)
